Our School Held The 2013 Teaching Working Conference Of The All -School
On November 23, our school held a 2013 school teaching work meeting and non -professional foreign language teaching seminar in the office building. The meeting was co -organized with the Graduate School on the basis of the previous undergraduate teaching work conference, and made an overall discussion on non -professional foreign language teaching involving the undergraduate and graduate stage of the school. The meeting aims to steadily promote the reform of non -professional foreign language teaching in our school, build a non -professional foreign language teaching system that is in line with the characteristics of North and foreign characteristics, further improve the quality of teaching, and cultivate more high -quality international talents.Jia Wenlong, the vice president of the Academic Affairs Office, made a speech on the conference. As a university with a long history of foreign language teaching, our school has always attached importance to university English, English minoring/dual -degree teaching and reform. On the basis of doing a good job in the teaching of the second foreign language, the third foreign language teaching has been gradually carried out, which is of great significance for the cultivation of composite, compound language, and international talents in our school. It is a work that must be done well.
After years of development, our university has formed a relatively complete teaching system for non -professional foreign language teaching. It has a more stable teaching model, and a large number of outstanding young and middle -aged teaching backbones have emerged. It is proud and gratifying to summarize a series of reform ideas. However, while affirming the results, the speech further pointed out that non -professional foreign language teaching in our school should re -examine the teaching goals and curriculum systems, and think in depth in the training of young teachers and the construction of teachers.
At the meeting, Professor Wen Qiufang, director of the China Foreign Language Education Research Center, made a theme report entitled "The Output Driven Assumptions' in Foreign Language Teaching". She started with the content of "output -driven assumptions", and gradually explained the theoretical basis such as students' needs, social needs and psychological needs, and explained the curriculum system of university English through the contrast of "general English" and "special use English". Finally pointed out the teaching challenge facing the theory.

After speaking themes, the participants conducted a group discussion. The five groups focus on the "development status and demand of our university's non -professional foreign language teaching", "the revision of the training plan for non -professional foreign language teaching, curriculum construction and teaching management of our school's non -professional foreign language teaching", "the construction status of non -professional foreign language teaching teams in our school" The four topics, "How to better cooperate with professional teaching in our school's non -professional foreign language teaching". After the discussion of the group, the five team leaders made a summary report to the conference.
In the summary of the conference, Jin Limin, director of the Academic Affairs Office, said that non -professional foreign language teaching in our school should be formulated in teaching goals. Multi -department coordination communication is adopted in class and curriculum settings. in. The Academic Affairs Office will continue to provide support for the teaching reform of the entire school. Tao Jiajun, Executive Deputy Dean of the Graduate School, said that in recent years, with the urgency of the national foreign language reform situation and the deepening of talent training model, the graduate school has started to brew the teaching reform of non -professional foreign language graduate students. Reform should be adhered to the comprehensive and systematic concepts to cultivate talents, and achieve "teaching according to their aptitude, cultivating on demand, increasingly exploring and leading innovation." The Graduate School will also build a platform for the professional development and dedicated discipline development of non -professional foreign language teachers.
