On December 12, the Twelfth Confucius Institute Conference opened in Xi'an. The theme of this conference was "deepening cooperation, innovating development, and contributing to the construction of a community of human destiny." Liu Yandong, Vice Premier of the State Council and chairman of the Council of the Confucius Institute, attended the opening ceremony of the conference and delivered a keynote speech. The principal of our school Peng Long and vice president Yan Guohua attended the conference. Peng Long spoke at the opening ceremony on behalf of more than 220 Chinese universities.

In his speech, Liu Yandong also mentioned that the "four new inventions" often said by foreigners are now based on a social survey made by the Silk Road Research Institute of our school.

In the opening ceremony, Peng Long pointed out that in the era of globalization and informatization, the Confucius Institute played a unique and important role in promoting the "people's hearts" in various countries. Beiwai actively undertakes the dual mission of "introducing the world to China and introducing China to the world", using the resource advantages of opening 84 foreign languages, adopting various forms, deepening cooperation with foreign universities in all aspects, and building Confucius together with foreign universities. Our school has hosted 22 Confucius Institutes in 17 countries in three continents. The Confucius Institute has a total of 15 Confucius classrooms, 193 Chinese teaching sites, and 473 cooperation agencies.
