On the evening of March 8th, the Embassy of the Republic of Italy held a ceremony of awarding. The Italian Ambassador to China Xie Guoyi on behalf of the Italian President Selcan Matharara awarded the Medal of President Peng Long Italy, the president of our school.

The "Italian Star" Medal is the National Honorary Medal issued by the President of the Republic of Italy. This award is awarded to foreigners and overseas Italians who have made outstanding contributions to promoting friendly relations between Italy and other countries each year to recognize their outstanding role in promoting the friendly relations between Italy and other countries.

Xie Guoyi said that President Peng Long won this honor because he and the Beijing University of Foreign Languages ​​he led by him made outstanding contributions to the research and promotion of Chinese language and culture in China, trained thousands of outstanding talents, and opened the first one in China. The Master of Language and Culture and the only doctoral point in the country made Beiwai the most influential Italian teaching research base in China. For decades, Beiwai has played an irreplaceable role in the friendly exchanges between China and Italy.

Peng Long thanked the president and ambassador. He introduced the development and characteristics of Beiwai, and affirmed the results of the Italian language teaching and research room and the Italian research center in recent years. It is a platform to cultivate more outstanding Italian talents and bring more well -being to the people of the two countries.

Subsequently, Ambassador Xie Guoyi read out the award and awarded a medal and certificate to Peng Long. The presence: Professor Peng Long is an outstanding intellectual in the Chinese cultural and educational community, and is a senior manager of the reform plan and innovation platform of higher education and senior talents in Chinese higher education and senior talent training. Professor Peng Long strives to promote the development of Italian studies in the university where he is the principal, making it the most influential academic unit in the field of language culture and education in China today. The university not only brings together many of the most powerful Italian scholars and Italian cultural experts, but also cultivates many outstanding talents who have actively promoted the relationship between China and Italy. Professor Peng Long actively promoted international exchanges and cooperation. Under his initiative, his university, who was the principal, established the Italian Research Center in 2015. Ms. Jani, then the Minister of Education of Italy, was unveiled to the center during his visit to China.
