From September 19th to 22nd, the 4th "Western Regional Foreign Language Discipline Development Seminar" hosted by the editorial department of "Foreign Language Teaching and Research" was held in Urumqi. The meeting was organized by the School of Foreign Languages ​​of Xinjiang University and co -organized by the Xinjiang University Foreign Languages ​​Teaching Research Association. Experts from many universities across the country and more than 250 teachers and students from various universities in Xinjiang attended the seminar.

Part of the expert report, Zhang Jianhua University of Beijing Foreign Studies University, Cheng Chaoxiang, Peking University, Zhang Shaojie, Northeast Normal University, Liang Maocheng, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Zhang Zheng at Beijing Normal University, Liu Zhengguang, Hunan University, Zhang Ping, South China Normal University, and "Foreign Language Teaching and Research" Editor -in -chief Wang Kefei made the theme report on their research results. The sub -forum consists of four themes: linguistic, literature, translation, and foreign language education. Each sub -forum has five teachers from Xinjiang universities reporting academic papers or project selection. Experts commented on the spot. The meeting was well received by local participating teachers and students, and it has stated that academic journals organize experts to go to the grassroots level and reach the frontier, which is the most powerful promotion and encouragement to the construction of local foreign language disciplines.

The "Development Seminar for Foreign Language Discipline in the Western Region" was initiated by the editorial department of "Foreign Language Teaching and Research". Establish a platform that communicates with the nationwide foreign language institutes and experts across the country to improve the level of local foreign language education, serve the western development strategy and the construction of the "Belt and Road" construction.
