The 16th China Australia Research International Academic Symposium Was Held In Our School

From June 22nd to 23rd, the 16th China Australia Research International Symposium was held at the International Conference Center of Foreign Research Society. The meeting coincided with the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Australian Research Association and the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Australian Council. Professor CHEY, Professor Chen Hong of East China Normal University, Professor Liu Kedong of Harbin Institute of Technology, and Professor Wayne of the University of Tasmania Wayne have been on Australia -China relations for nearly 40 years. The influence of the "India-Pacific Strategy" of Australia on Sino-Australian relations, the family history reconstruction of the family in Harbin Archives, and the future identity of Australia have given a keynote speech.

The meeting focuses on the theme of "Australia and the World" to explore the development and role of Australia in the Asia -Pacific region, as well as the increasingly important international relations trend of Australia and other parts of the world. Nearly 200 people from more than 30 colleges and universities in China, nearly 200 people and research institutions in Australia and more than 20 universities in Australia, from politics, economy, trade, international relations, history, society, culture, education, language, literature, translation and art, etc. Multi -disciplinary and interdisciplinary academic exchanges were conducted in the field, and fruitful results were achieved.

The academic quality, participation level and meeting organization of the meeting were highly affirmed by the participants. The meeting has enhanced the level of research in Australia in China, strengthened the academic exchanges between China and Australia and the influence and appeal of Chinese Australian research in academic community at home and abroad, and contributed to strengthening mutual understanding of China Australia.

China Australia Study International Academic Symposium is held every two years and has been held for 16 sessions so far. Our school hosted the first seminar in 1988 and the 11th seminar in 2008. Decided by the Council of the Chinese Australian Research Association, the 17th China Australia Research International Symposium will be held at Harbin Institute of Technology in 2020.

On the eve of the meeting, on June 21, the 3rd National Australian Research Intelligence Graduate Academic Forum was held. More than 50 graduate students from 15 universities including Beijing Foreign Studies University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, East China Normal University, Inner Mongolia Normal University, including politics , Economic and trade, international relations, history, social culture, language, literature, translation and art have conducted in -depth exchanges and discussions. The forum invited the Honorary Professor of Beiwai Australia Research Center, COLIN, David, a visiting professor of the North Wai Australia Research Center, associate Professor Dai Ning, Xia Yuhe, and the Associate Professor of Peking University and Bituo Australia. Professor Xi Greg, Executive Director of Tsinghua University, Professor Wang Jinghui, Professor Wu Haiyan, Director of the Australian Research Center in Inner Mongolia, Professor David of Queensland University David, and Griffis University Pat Willer ( Professor Pat) and other experts conducted review and guidance on the research topics participating in the forum.
