To achieve the development goals of our school's world-class disciplines and first-class foreign languages ​​university, the construction of teachers and talent teams is the key. Over the past five years, the school has actively explored a talent recruitment mechanism that unites people with careers, attracts people with environment, and motivates people with systems. It has implemented a new talent recruitment management system, strengthened classified management, innovated personnel management mechanisms, and stimulated the vitality of the talent team. 1. Increase the training and support of high-level talents

The school has established a talent echelon training and support system at all levels for newly recruited young teachers, outstanding young teachers, outstanding young and middle-aged academic leaders, named chair professors (discipline leaders) and evergreen scholars to promote the common development of introduced talents and on-campus talents. 2. Innovate the teacher evaluation system and reform the professional title evaluation and employment methods

Improve the evaluation standards for teaching, scientific research and social services, increase the intensity of peer evaluation, revise and introduce the new "Beijing Foreign Studies University Professional and Technical Position Evaluation Implementation Measures (2016 Revised Edition)", and realize the evaluation of teacher titles and ranks based on teaching and scientific research , teaching series are classified for evaluation and management. The evaluation focuses on the quality of results, taking into account the quantity of results, reflects the performance of various teaching and scientific research results, implements limited replacement of results, and establishes a new mechanism to encourage the excellent development of teachers in categories. In 2017, one teaching series professor and five associate professors were selected for the first time.

3. Exploring a modern university employment system that combines pre-employment with permanent employment

In order to attract outstanding talents at home and abroad, we will realize dynamic and optimized management of newly hired teaching staff and stimulate the internal vitality and innovative vitality of the team. 4. Establish a diversified talent introduction mechanism that combines full-time and flexible introduction

The school recruits talents from all over the world, explores new ways to recruit high-level foreign teachers, implements nationalized treatment, and comprehensively improves the professional and international level of our school's teaching team, especially improving the level of teachers in non-common languages ​​and new languages. 2. Establish substantive cooperative relationships with world-class universities to enhance the international education level of our school

In May 2017, the Global Alliance of Foreign Studies Universities initiated by our school was officially established. 30 universities from 16 countries around the world became the first members of the alliance, and held a Global Alliance of Foreign Studies Universities around the theme of "Language, Civilization and Global Governance" Alliance Principal Forum. On the day of the meeting, representatives from the alliance's member universities jointly signed the "Global Alliance of Foreign Studies University Cooperation Agreement", marking the full launch of the work of the Global Alliance of Foreign Studies University. 4. Clarify the strategic positioning of the Confucius Institute and strengthen the construction of non-common language platforms

5. Expand the educational functions of Confucius Institutes and cultivate high-end overseas talents

General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed that the mission of the Confucius Institute is to “introduce culture,” “connect minds,” and “build bridges.” Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the school has focused on promoting the goal of promoting cultural exchange mechanisms between countries and the “One Belt, One Road” initiative in line with its own international development. Combining and relying on the network advantages of our school’s 22 overseas Confucius Institutes located in 17 countries on 3 continents, we will explore and innovate the training mechanism for overseas high-end talents. As one of the first 14 universities in the country to implement the "Confucius New Sinology Plan", our school has recruited 31 "New Sinology" doctoral students since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, coming from 20 countries in four continents: Europe, Asia, Africa and South America. 6. Construct a two-way cooperation network of Confucius Institutes and create an “overseas college” at BFSU

While strengthening the training of overseas high-end talents, our school strives to continuously deepen the international connotation of talent training through the Confucius Institute. With the purpose of "introducing China to the world" and the goal of building an "overseas college" at Beijing Foreign Studies University, we are committed to building a high-level international cooperation platform, establishing a stable, mutual trust and win-win cooperation network with overseas universities, and building a multi-national , an overseas teaching, scientific research and practice base for teachers and students with strong disciplines and lively formats.
