Zhang Lian believes that the fundamental problem of "who cultivates who, how to cultivate people, and who cultivates people" is not unique to China, but the common understanding of Chinese and foreign educators. Based on a large number of literature, she analyzed the necessity and feasibility of thinking and politics from foreign language education curriculum from the perspective of linguistics. Language use is a social practice. Maintain or challenge a specific social structure. The writing of textbooks is shaped as the discourse incident and social structure. The user of the textbook will internalize these social products and bring it as a meaningful resource into social practice. Language use, language education and cultural inheritance, value development, social relations, and order construction and deconstruction have a congenital and profound relationship.

Zhang Lian demonstrated the changes and values ​​orientation of the corpus topic in the database of English textbooks in different regions and different regions, and introduced the method and practice of incorporated ideological and political education in conjunction with the textbook writing experience. She proposed that the text in the textbook is the basis for students to analyze and interpret and construct the meaning. Only on this basis can students start meaningful resources and begin to interpret meaning. In the selection of language materials, conscious design should be compared with Chinese and foreign corpus. In the design and cloth, students should clearly guide students to reflect on the social, political, and ideological views contained in the text.
