On the morning of November 27, the establishment ceremony of the French Language and Cultural Institute of Beijing University of Foreign Languages ​​and Culture was held in the library. French was founded in 1950 and was the earliest French major in New China. After 68 years of development, the French Department has achieved fruitful results in the development of disciplines, teaching, and scientific research. It has become a national -level specialty construction site, Beijing Key Discipline and the Ministry of Education's Chinese -French Humanities Exchange Research Center. According to the unified planning of the school's discipline construction and development, the school decided to officially change its name to the "French Language and Cultural College".

Jia Wenjian reviewed the results achieved by the French majors from the date of establishment. He said that the diversified development of the French major requires further integration of internal and external resources. Establishing a college can be described as right at the time. It is hoped that the newly established French Language and Cultural Institute will inherit excellent traditions, fully integrate academic resources, connotative development and extension development, continue to strengthen international exchanges and cooperation, give full play to the leading role of disciplines, and maintain the characteristics and core competitiveness of our school.

Zhao Ping expressed his affirmation and praise for the efforts of the French French Department of Beishang to promote the precious heritage of the China -French cultural exchanges in Haidian District. Liu Yuli is an alumni in my department. She recalled her study and life during the school, expressing her gratitude to the teacher and congratulations to the establishment of the college. Dong Qiang and Liu Zewen expressed warm congratulations on the establishment of the French Academy on behalf of the colleges and universities and the European and American classmates, respectively.

Dai Dongmei, dean of the French Language and Culture College, said that the French Department is renamed the School of French Language and Culture. It is the unified strategic deployment of the school, the general trend, the success of the water, and an important opportunity to promote the connotation and extension development of French majors. On the one hand, the college will inherit the excellent teaching tradition of the French French Department, practice internal skills, strengthen discipline construction, and continuously explore new composite compound language talent training models; on the other hand, the college's structure will enable the original French discipline group Get more room for development, they will gradually grow into three departments, namely linguistics and translation, French literature, French countries and regions. The college will continue to build teachers with both morals and talents, unity, and compound types.
