Recently, Professor Kubin, the School of Global History of our school, won the 2016 Chinese Government Friendship Award. On September 30, Premier Li Keqiang met with foreign experts who won the 2016 Chinese Government's "Friendship Award" in the Great Hall of the People. Vice Premier Zhang Gaoli and Ma Kai attended the meeting.
Li Keqiang first congratulated the award -winning foreign experts. He said that for a long time, foreign experts have played a unique role in helping China to introduce advanced technology and management experience, and promote the cultural exchanges between Chinese and foreign people and make important contributions. Combining the rich experience and active thinking of foreign experts will help better promote the development of China's modernization process and world peaceful development. He pointed at Professor Gu Bin that you are the only Sinologist among the winners. Thank you for building a cross -cultural exchange dialogue platform to deepen the contribution of Chinese communication, understanding and cooperation in China.
That night, Professor Gu Bin and his wife at the invitation of Prime Minister Li Keqiang attended the "Enrollment of the 67th Anniversary of the Founding of the People's Republic of China" held in the Great Hall of the People.
On September 29, at the Awards Ceremony of the Friendship Awards held in Zhongnanhai, Ma Kai, deputy prime minister of the State Council, presented awards to 50 winners from 18 countries including Professor Gu Bin. He pointed out that 50,000 winners of the Chinese Government Friendship Award were selected from more than 600,000 foreign experts who came to China. This is the highest honor established by the Chinese government to recognize foreign experts working in China.
Professor Gu Bin has been appointed as a special professor of our university since the University of Bonn University in 2011. It is the sixth year. He has made outstanding contributions to the north and even China in academic research, translation, literary creation, and training talents.
