From June 11th to 12th, the second series of courses of the "Research Methods and Analysis Tools Series Workshop" jointly organized by the Teacher Development Center and Library of the Personnel Office was successfully concluded. Associate Professor Song Yi of the School of International News and Communication brings a series of lectures with the theme of "Quantitative Research Methods" to the participating teachers.
Song Yi carried out courses from the three aspects: the basic principles of statistical analysis, how to sample scientific sampling, questionnaire design and data analysis, and explained in detail the core concepts such as research issues and assumptions, variable types and variable architectures. Statistics mainly judge standards and different variable types corresponding to the corresponding correspondence Common data analysis methods; explain the basic principles of sampling, mainly sampling methods and non -random sampling methods, the determination of effective samples, etc.; The analysis method is explained to how to measure the effectiveness of the questionnaire, the reliability, and the correct reporting specifications. Finally, Song Yi guided the participating teachers to participate in data compilation, input, and on -board operation exercises in combination with specific examples of questionnaires.
In the series of courses, Song Yi not only systematically introduced the process and methods of general quantitative research, but also analyzed and interpreted many practical problems in daily life with statistical principles and methods. Scientifically thinking and understanding the issues have inspired teachers. In addition, through the advantages and disadvantages of comparative analysis and quantitative research and qualitative research, the course emphasized that researchers should choose the appropriate research method in combination with the nature and characteristics of the research problem. After two days of learning a combination of theory and practice, the participating teachers said that they had initially mastered the use of quantitative research principles and the use of SPSS statistical analysis software.
"Research Methods and Analysis Tool Series Workshop" includes three series of courses. The last series of courses "data collection and analysis in quality research, NVIVO quality analysis software learning" is lectured by Associate Professor Zhang Hong. In June It was held in the library from the 19th to 21st.
