In terms of higher education, the "Modern University English Reading" (1-6 volumes), "Modern University English Reading" (1-6), and "College Specific English Tutorial" (1-4), edited by Professor Sun Youzhong, and Professor Shi Tieqiang as the editor-in-chief. The "Oriental" University Russian "(1-8 volumes) of the editor-in-chief won the second prize of the National Excellent Textbook.

At the first establishment of textbooks at domestic universities, held the first teaching materials work meeting, formulated the 14th Five -Year Plan for Teaching Materials, clarified the construction policy of "strong excellence, supplement shortness, filling the blanks". Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Party Central Committee and the State Council have attached great importance to the construction of textbooks and have made significant deployment of teaching materials. In December 2019, the National Teaching Materials Construction Award was officially established, hosted by the National Teaching Materials Committee and undertaken by the Ministry of Education.
